This morning I had to get up early and drive to Petoskey for a substitute teaching job. I was happy to have a reason to wake up before sunrise. Funny how your perspective changes when you haven’t had work in awhile…
The day started out quite well, as it was cold enough to warrant scraping the windshield. Thank you Mr. Jack Frost, for the reminder that winter is near:)
Then, the drive from Charlevoix was beautiful as always. The entire drive is along Lake Michigan, so you can’t really go wrong. I like to note each time what color the water is- closer to teal in warm summer days, dark blue with whitecaps on stormy ones.
This morning I was driving through the beginning hints of dawn.
There’s something calming about driving along the lake that even the caffeine in my coffee and my worries about being late could not override.
God’s grace today was in a soul that feels the peace of nature.
